Title

Coding and Education Specialist

Hours/Status Full Time – 40 Hours
Job Description

Responsibilities:  This position is responsible for performing coding and education for rural health clinics.  In addition to audits, the coding and education specialist is responsible for educating providers and staff on coding rules as well as local and non-local policies and procedures to ensure compliancy. Performing chart audits. Extracting relevant information from patient records. Liaising with physicians and other parties to clarify information. Examining documents for missing information.  Providing Management with independent analysis of the results of audits. Enters data from source documents into Practice Management System for patient billing purposes using knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes. Analyzes, researches and corrects data entry errors using Practice Management System, electronic medical record systems, and Microsoft Office applications. Researches and consolidates information required for analysis of revenue cycle operations. Conducts testing of system updates related to revenue cycle processes and provides feedback. Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues. Provides training to clinical departments as needed, including training of new providers and coders. Monitors open charts and provides leadership team with weekly reports. Ensuring Company’s business practices are in compliance with medical coding policies and guidelines.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  •  Medical Coding: 2+ years (Preferred)
  • AAPC Certified Professional coder (CPC) and/or AHIMA Certified coding Specialist.
  • Auditing experience preferred
  • Experience in healthcare auditing and monitoring is a plus.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong people skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Knowledge of chart review/auditing training, CPT and ICD-10 coding, health insurance, medical billing procedures in a clinical setting

Title

Patient Accounts and Collections Supervisor

Hours/Status Full Time – 40 Hours
Job Description

Responsibilities:  Patient account research and analysis.  Strong collections experience is needed to determine the appropriate action to contact, communicate with and address aging A/R. Issue patient statements and collection letters for accounts with balances due. Credit balance review for accuracy and follow up. Establish standard internal guidelines, arrange for and set payment plans for delinquent accounts to maximize payment opportunity while maintaining effective patient relationships. Develop procedures and tools/dashboards to regularly report the status of A/R and collections to executive leadership. This includes but is not limited to regular standardized reports on all past due accounts.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in healthcare or business related field.

Work Experience or Related Experience:

  • A solid foundation in an accounting environment as obtained through five years progressively responsible experience.
  • A minimum of one to two years’ experience performing accounts receivable collections
  • Experience in the healthcare industry is strongly preferred
  • At least 2 years proven experience in a senior or lead role with responsibilities in providing direction, training, coaching and guidance to others is required.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel.
